The British tennis star earned the most important win of his career by rebounding from a early deficit to beat world No 1 Carlos Alcaraz with a stunning comeback in the early stage of the prestigious indoor tournament.

The British player, seeded 31st globally, also ended Alcaraz's supreme run of nine straight final appearances and 17 straight elite tournament victories, which marked the top run of outcomes in the Spaniard's developing career.
