Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a health issue she has been battling in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
