Arsenal's manager feels assured that his side can continue to cope with injury setbacks after confirming that forward Kai Havertz remains out for the coming weeks.

The Germany international has been out for months after undergoing an operation on his knee. Originally slated to return at the start of this month, Arteta revealed the player faced a hurdle when stepping up his rehabilitation and could not progress “the required stage.”

“Our previous experiences taught us that we need to utilize players in different positions, and they need to be prepared to adapt to new tasks if we are to fight at this level. And the instance of Mikel is probably the prime illustration.”

Speaking about the setback highlighted by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, Arteta offered further detail. “He followed all protocols. He was unable to progress to the subsequent stage and now it’s looking like we have solved that issue.”

He shared his eagerness to have him back. “Everyone is eager to have him. Truly, Havertz is someone that, personally, I value highly for the qualities he offers to the team, but his mentality, his personality. I see him suffer on the sidelines.”
